Privacy policy

This policy explains what data FileConverterPro("we", "us") collects, why, and what we do with it. We aim to collect as little as possible and to keep what we do collect for as short as possible.

1. Files you process

Almost every tool on FileConverterPro runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read and converted locally; they are not uploaded to our servers. We cannot see, store, or recover them.

For any future tool that does require server-side processing, files are stored temporarily and deleted automatically:

  • Free tier: files deleted within 1 hour.
  • Pro tier: files deleted within 24 hours.

2. Account data

You can use any free tool without an account. If you create one to upgrade to Pro, we store:

  • Your email address (for sign-in and account recovery).
  • Your subscription status from Stripe (active, canceled, etc.).
  • The date your account was created.

We do not store your payment card details — those go directly to Stripe.

3. Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of essential cookies for security and login. Analytics and advertising cookies only load if you accept them via the cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time on the cookies page.

4. Analytics

We may use a privacy-friendly analytics service (such as Plausible) to understand how the site is used. Analytics data is anonymous and never tied to your identity.

5. Advertising

Free users may see ads served by Google AdSense or similar networks. These networks may set cookies to measure ad performance. Ads only load after you accept marketing cookies. Pro accounts never see ads.

6. Payment processing

Payments are handled by Stripe. When you upgrade we share your email and a customer reference with Stripe. We receive subscription status back via webhook. We never see your card number.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA, others), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights contact us at barkie.media@gmail.com.

8. Data retention

  • Files: see section 1.
  • Account data: kept while your account exists; deleted on request.
  • Server logs: kept up to 30 days for security and abuse investigation.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
